A half-day trip to discover one of the most unique karst modelling representations of the province and the whole country: the large land subsidences called popularly ‘Torcas’ and ‘Lagunas’. In the first part of the visit we’ll take a walk around the Natural Monument of ‘Lagunas de Cañada del Hoyo’, where we can see three shinkholes with water in different colors (green, blanck and blue) and observe, using the terrestrial telescope, some wildlife species such as the European pond turtle (Emys orbicularis).
In the second part we will visit another protectec area called Natural Monument of “Palancares y Tierra Muerta”. Two of the largest and oldest european black pines of de region will be contemplated: Grand-father pine & Chandelier pine. After that, we’ll take a shor walk through the place of ‘Las Torcas’ to look at the dimension of some of these sinkholes, with more than 40 meters deep and where you can see different varieties of orchids.
